Social Media Craze

I use social media to connect with friends and family.

Types of social media that I currently use:

  • Snapchat – Send “selfies”/pictures. Easy to use and I find that people respond most quickly on this app.
  • Facebook/Messenger – I mostly post pictures on Facebook for older family members to see. Messenger is also a quick and easy way to connect with people.
  • Twitter – Mainly used for a good laugh when I’m bored, sometimes can learn daily news info.
  • Instagram – I love instagram because I can share all of my pictures on it and it’s fun to see what others post as well.

I use my iPhone most of the time, and sometimes I will use my laptop but I am not able to use Snapchat on my laptop.

My favorite choice of social media to use would probably be Snapchat which I use the most, and then Instagram.  Not too many people my age even use Facebook anymore, it’s definitely getting old.

Media Interview Review

I picked number 44 – Matter Communications, and picked the article titled: “Startup Guide: How to Crush Your First Media Interview”.

https://www.matternow.com/blog/startup-guide-crush-first-media-interview/

I like that this blog post is easy to navigate, and it has tons of helpful tips to help prepare you for your first media interview. The post begins with explaining the Do’s and Don’t’s for your interview, and how you should prepare yourself. Then it continues with general questions that are good to ask during an interview, such as “What does your company do?”, and “What are the next steps for your company?”. One thing I learned from this post is that it’s good to talk about statistics. “The more numbers you can reveal, the better”.

The end of the post explains how to maintain a relationship with your interviewer. By sending a follow up email including a thank you, and any relevant sources, you can develop a good relationship with that employer and present yourself as mature. Another thing I like about this post is that there is a picture of the author at the end of the article with information about her too. I would like to incorporate this into my blog. As a journalism major, I appreciate being able to see who wrote the post and learn more about her than just what she wrote.
